3 Reasons Why Paige Spiranac is my favorite female golfer

How many of you are devoted Paige fans? I am amazed at Paige’s friendly and down to earth personality. She has been a positive role model to young girls who are interested in playing golf. Her YouTube golfing videos on chipping, putting, hitting the irons and woods along with golf course strategy has garnered her a solid fan base of 192,000. I became a devoted Paige fan in 2018. Here are three reasons Paige Spiranac is my favorite female golfer.
My #1 reason for choosing Paige as my favorite female golfer is her dedication to personally connecting with her fans. She has always been open to answering questions about her golf game, personal workout tips and what types of food are her favorite. It is always refreshing to see someone who is so sweet, passionate and a go-getter. Paige has always been very open and transparent with her fans. And she also gives fan a glimpse into her personal life as well.
She brings a lot of good energy and positivity to everything that she pursues whether it is her weekly podcast “Playing a Round of Golf with Paige Renee” on Apple Podcast on all aspects of golf or spending time with her adopted dog Niko on her Instagram or Facebook posts.

My #2 reason why I consider Paige to be my favorite female golfer is her position on the issue of cyberbullying. It is defined on the Internet as “online bullying with fake rumors, sexual remarks or threats, which are intended to harm the person.” (On Wikipedia if you look up cyberbullying). Young teenage girls are the majority who are targets of this hateful and terrible crime. According to Pew Research, 59% of female teens in the United States have been bullied or harassed online. Suicide rates have doubled since 2008 according to the Megan Meier Foundation. If you want to read about it, here is the link: https://www.meganmeierfoundation.org/statistics
Paige experienced cyberbullying firsthand when she was in school. She had a medical condition that stopped her hair from growing. The kids at her school threw rocks at her and made her childhood extremely difficult. Paige was teased for looking like a boy. I admire Paige’s courage and strength.
Cyberbullying reached its peak when Paige entered the Dubai Ladies Masters on a sponsors exemption at age 22 fresh out of college. The golf media described her on the Internet as “sexualizing women’s golf” and not earning a spot in the tournament due to her golfing game. Paige was crying in the hotel feeling alone, scared and helpless. She also gets a lot of hate comments on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter daily.
Paige combated cyberbullying by becoming an ambassador to Cybersmile in March 2017. She became a voice for trouble teens. Paige encouraged young bullied teenagers that they are not alone. You need to know that you are the victim and it is not your fault. And you need to speak with other victims of cyberbullying who can give helpful tips and strategies to get over it quickly. Paige suggests to join a community where you can speak openly about your issues with others.

My #3 and final reason why Paige Spiranac is my favorite female golfer is her tenacity to live life to the fullest in a bright and positive way. She has always been a go-getter and a shining example to young female and male golfers in the United States and all over the world. I have not met Paige yet in person. I will enjoy getting to know Paige and finding out ways on which I can improve my golfing game to the next level on the range and on the golf course.
She is such an inspiring person that will continue to captivate the professional golfing scene for years to come. Paige, keep on shining your positive beam of light to others in need.
