Jacki Jing: My Favorite Gaming Host
She is well-known in the gaming industry. Did you know that Jacki Jing was originally a co-anchor from Good Morning New Orleans in December 2014? She is an Emmy-nominated TV journalist. It is where Jacki got valuable experience as a co-host reporting on technology local news in New Orleans and top US news headlines for four years until April 19, 2018. She desired a career change. Jacki’s younger brother Ian inspired her to work for IGN, a major gaming company. He passed away in 2017 due to a heroin addiction. I can feel Jacki’s pain. I lost my mom in 2015 to stage 3 cancer. It is tough losing a close family member.
Jacki is my favorite gaming host due to her bubbly and friendly personality on camera. She has a dedicated following of 10,000 subscribers on YouTube, 120,000 followers on Instagram, 205,000 followers on Facebook, and 8,600 followers on Twitch. Jacki has mentioned that she is a “giant nerd that loves video games, animes, movies, and TV shows about sci-fi, fantasy, action, martial arts, and crime.” The videos on her YouTube channel on the world of gaming are entertaining. How IGN propelled Jacki Jing as a major gaming host
IGN is a huge gaming company that has been around since 1996. Many gaming hosts got their start here. Jacki was on a mission to work at IGN. Her previous experience as a co-host and newscaster for ABC News and being nominated for the Suncoast Regional Emmy in 2014 on the tragic death of Takita Mathieu prompted IGN to hire her as an on-air gaming personality.
Jacki Jing was an IGN gaming host speaking on topics such as Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, and The Witcher along with blockbuster movies Thor: Love and Thunder, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Avengers: Endgame to name a few. Here is a short YouTube video of Jacki having a strange conversation with Deadpool for the movie Deadpool 2. It is hilarious, here is the link:
She also attended huge gaming conventions as an IGN gaming host such as San Diego Comic-Con and the E3 gaming convention held at the Los Angeles Convention Center every year until 2019. Jacki has a powerful stage presence when she speaks about popular video games, hit TV shows, or big-hit franchise movies coming out in the theatres. I enjoy watching her game-hosting reel segments.
There was a funny skit between Jacki Jing, Sydnee Goodman, and WWE superstar Becky Lynch at the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con. It was the ultimate showdown to see who could “smack talk” as the character Thanos with his famous lines from “Avengers: Infiniti Wars.” Here is the full YouTube video where Becki trains both Jacki and Sydnee to speak like Thanos without breaking character:
