This is an idea that most people would not pursue during the current Covid 19 pandemic that has tragically affected everyone all around the world. The natural tendency or instinct for humans is to “hide and take shelter” from people in fear of catching a “unseen enemy” in the air from an affected patient. All regular 9–5 jobs are literally drying up. There is fear and panic.

Physical companies are shutting down their companies left and right. It is a nightmare for the brick and mortar companies. That is when e-commerce online companies come marching into the arena.

It is a clear fact that people starting an online e-commerce store such as Shopify, Amazon and Woo-Commerce will crush the competition in the business world in 2020. It is just a smart sound decision.

Most companies in today’s society do not need to have a physical store. I see that grocery stores and essential places such as hospitals and medical facilities still need physical human beings to help out. Most businesses that have brick and mortar stores now can take their business online to cut costs and save more money in the long run.

We are in a world where the possibilities are endless when you start an e-commerce business. “Sky’s the limit.” I would suggest picking a business that you are 100% passionate about. That is a golden rule of thumb. You can open up an online fitness e-commerce store or an online hiking store instantly on your laptop computer with e-commerce software such as Shopify or WooCommerce.

Brick and mortar companies have been extremely hard hit during the COVID 19 pandemic in March 2020. The physical cost of paying the rent for the brick and mortar store, paying its employees and overhead cost makes it much more expensive to maintain than an online e-commerce store with little overhead cost. It can easily cost $2,000 per week to pay your employees, $500 to $1,500 dollars for marketing costs and up to $2,000 dollars for yearly insurance coverages for your brick and mortar stores. That is some of the costs.

Here are some interesting statistics from Nielsen on e-commerce recently. The average number of online shoppers who make purchases from foreign retailers is 57%. Mobile E-commerce from your smartphones is also on the rise. Nielsen states that “42.9% of mobile sales are online retail businesses.”

Small online businesses is the key to growing the economy and also helping our world to be a better place for everyone. E-commerce stores can be set up when you are relaxing on vacation or at home with your family. It is that simple.
